## Image Caption

The six-chambered gate at [Tel Gezer](https://www.worldhistory.org/Gezer/) in modern-day [Israel](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Israel/). This [Iron Age](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Iron_Age/) gate was once thought built by King [Solomon](https://www.worldhistory.org/solomon/), however recent scholarship has cast doubt on this idea, with some scientific evidence pointing to a later date of construction. Six-chambered gates like this are also found at Tel Megiddo and Tel Hazor, and like this gate their dating is controversial.
