Slane Abbey is the ruins on the Hill of Slane, [Ireland](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Ireland/) where [Saint Patrick](https://www.worldhistory.org/Saint_Patrick/) infamously lit his bonfire during the pagan festival of Ostara, directly opposite the Hill of [Tara](https://www.worldhistory.org/Tara_(Goddess)/). The current ruins include 1512 CE reconstructions of the monastic Abbey.
