The Ram Chandra [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) is a prominent part of [Katas Raj](https://www.worldhistory.org/Katas_Raj/) complex of early [Hinduism](https://www.worldhistory.org/hinduism/), situated in the District of Chakwal in the Punjab, Pakistan. This site is a complex and dates back to the 3rd century BCE. A [Buddhist](https://www.worldhistory.org/buddhism/) [Stupa](https://www.worldhistory.org/stupa/) is the oldest structure at the site, reportedly built in the reign of [Asoka](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ashoka_the_Great/). In later times the Hindus rulers of Kashmir built the seven temples of Sath Ghara. The Ram Chandra temple and Haveli Hari Singh Nalwa are relatively new additions.
