Drinking Cup known as the Nestor's Cup found in the ancient [Greek](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/greek/) site of Pithekoussai on the island of Ischia in [Italy](https://www.worldhistory.org/italy/), dated to c. 740 BCE. The cup has letters that are considered one of the oldest known examples of the use of the [Greek alphabet](https://www.worldhistory.org/Greek_Alphabet/). Today the cup is kept in the Villa Arbusto museum in the village of Lacco Ameno (Ischia, Italy).
