This panel shows a scene from [Herodotus](https://www.worldhistory.org/herodotus/)'s Histories: Sisamnes, a corrupt judge, is ordered to be flayed alive by Cambyses, the Persian king. His skin was then used as a cover for the seat his son would use when he sat in judgment.
