Part of the facade of the [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of [Inanna](https://www.worldhistory.org/Inanna/) at [Uruk](https://www.worldhistory.org/uruk/). There are standing male and female deities in alternate niches. Each figure holds a vessel in his/her hands and pours life-giving water onto the earth. The [cuneiform](https://www.worldhistory.org/cuneiform/) inscriptions on the bricks mention the name of the [Kassite](https://www.worldhistory.org/kassite/) ruler Karaindash as the person who ordered the building of this temple. From Uruk, southern [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), modern-day Iraq, c. 1413 BCE.
