A major [Buddhist](https://www.worldhistory.org/buddhism/) [stupa](https://www.worldhistory.org/stupa/) located in Boudhanath, roughly 11 km from Kathmandu, Nepal. This stupa is one of the largest Stupas in the world, built on an ancient [trade](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/trade/) route linking Tibet with the Kathmandu Valley.
