On the back of this piece, there are [cuneiform](https://www.worldhistory.org/cuneiform/) inscriptions that mention that this headdress was commissioned by a Bau-Ninam on behalf of King [Shulgi of Ur](https://www.worldhistory.org/Shulgi_of_Ur/). It is most likely that this headdress was to be put on the [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/) Lamma. Neo-[Sumerian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sumerians/) period, [Ur](https://www.worldhistory.org/ur/) III, reign of King Shulgi, 2094-2047 BCE. From [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), Iraq. (The British Museum, London).
