The [Tomb](https://www.worldhistory.org/tomb/) of Aline is an ancient [Egyptian](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Egyptian/) [grave](https://www.worldhistory.org/burial/) from the time of [Roman emperor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Emperor/) [Tiberius](https://www.worldhistory.org/Tiberius/) (r. 14-37 CE), excavated at Hawara in 1892. The portrait is painted directly onto the canvas of the mummy wrapping.
