## Image Caption

Bel-harran-beli-usur was a high [palace](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/palace/) official (chamberlain) during the reign of the Assyrian kings Shalmaneser IV (782-773 BC) and Tigleth-Pileser III (744-727 BC). He built a [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) and a large [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) to the west of [Nineveh](https://www.worldhistory.org/nineveh/). The stele features Bel-harran-beli-usur prays in front of divine symbols and Gods. Marble, Tel Abda, [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), 8th century BCE.
