This military face mask (thought to have been worn in [battle](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/battle/) and during parades by cavalry) is one of the most exceptional finds at the site of the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. It is one the oldest facial helmets knows in the [Roman army](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Army/), dating from the first part of the 1st century CE. (Museum und Park Kalkriese)
