Built around 104 CE, the fountain of [Trajan](https://www.worldhistory.org/trajan/) is one of the finest monuments in [Ephesus](https://www.worldhistory.org/ephesos/). It was constructed in honor of [Roman Emperor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Emperor/) Trajan. The pool of the fountain was 20×10 meters, surrounded by columns and statues. These statues were of [Dionysos](https://www.worldhistory.org/Dionysos/), a [Satyr](https://www.worldhistory.org/satyr/), [Aphrodite](https://www.worldhistory.org/Aphrodite/) and the family of the Emperor. They are now on display in the [Ephesus](https://www.worldhistory.org/ephesos/) Museum.
