A detail from the Throne of [Motecuhzoma II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Montezuma/) otherwise known as the Monument of Sacred [War](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/War/). The sun disk in the centre is flanked by the [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/) [Huitzilopochtli](https://www.worldhistory.org/Huitzilopochtli/) on the left and [Motecuhzoma](https://www.worldhistory.org/Montezuma/) II on the right.
