After two decades of being away from his wife, Penelope, [Odysseus](https://www.worldhistory.org/odysseus/) (Ulysses in Latin) reunites with her, recounting the many tales of the [Trojan War](https://www.worldhistory.org/Trojan_War/) and his journey to return home. Euryclea, a devoted servant in his [palace](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/palace/), accompanies Penelope in her hardship and exposes unfaithful servants upon his return.
