This 16th-century depiction of Penelope and her suitors from [Homer](https://www.worldhistory.org/homer/)'s *[Odyssey](https://www.worldhistory.org/Odyssey/)* was part of a series of frescoes commissioned by the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of Siena's ruler, Pandolfo Petrucci.
