Serving as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 1979 - 1990, Margaret Thatcher became the first woman to serve in that role and the longest serving PM in 20th century [Britain](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Britain/). Views on her premiership are incredibly polarisizing as the lasting effects of her policies are still a point of contention between supporters and critics. This portrait was taken towards the end of her tenure.
