This coin was minted in with the image of [Roman Emperor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Emperor/) Antoninus Pius and the ancient [Greek](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/greek/) snake [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/) Glycon, by then adopted into the [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) [pantheon](https://www.worldhistory.org/Pantheon/) through local cults. The inscription reads “ΓΛVΚΩΝ ΑΒΩΝΟΤΕΙΧΕΙΤΩΝ” or "Glycon Abonoteichos."
