The home of [William Barret Travis](https://www.worldhistory.org/William_Barret_Travis/) (1809 to 1836), best-known as the commander of the [Alamo](https://www.worldhistory.org/article/2805/the-alamo/) during the 13-day siege in 1836. The house is now located on Perdue Hill, Monroe County in Alabama. The house's original location was in the nearby but now abandoned Claiborne.
