Depicted here is a Union charge at the [Battle](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/battle/) of Nashville (15-16 December 1864), a decisive Federal victory in the [American Civil War](https://www.worldhistory.org/American_Civil_War/) in which the Confederate army under Lieutenant General [John Bell Hood](https://www.worldhistory.org/John_Bell_Hood/) was effectively removed from the conflict.
