Statue of James Bonham, photograph by Larry D. Moore, 2018.

Created by sculptor Allie Tenant in 1938, this statue, located in the eponymous [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of Bonham, Texas, commemorates James Butler Bonham (1807-1836), who brought word on 3 March 1836 that reinforcements were en route to lift the siege at the [Alamo](https://www.worldhistory.org/article/2805/the-alamo/). They never arrived. Three days later, Bonham was among the last to fall in the [Battle of the Alamo](https://www.worldhistory.org/Battle_of_the_Alamo/).
