The Cisterns of La Malga were a group of large cisterns constructed during the Roman period as a water supply for the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of Carthage, especially the Baths of Antoninus. The cisterns, with a capacity of 50,000–60,000 m3, received water from a branch of the Zaghouan [Aqueduct](https://www.worldhistory.org/aqueduct/).
