Remains of Punic houses in the so-called District of [Hannibal](https://www.worldhistory.org/hannibal/), the 2nd-century BCE Punic residential district of Carthage in Byrsa Hill (modern-day Tunis). The houses were preserved under the [Roman forum](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Forum/)'s foundation, which was built atop the Punic ruins.
