This waterfront view shows the southern entrance to the Arsenal. The famous [Piraeus](https://www.worldhistory.org/Piraeus/) Lions are featured in this land entrance to the left and showcased Venice's dominion over parts of [Greece](https://www.worldhistory.org/greece/). The towers in the water entrance are a symbol of Venice's towering maritime power, industrial ingenuity, and skill.
