The Zeppelin airship LZ 129 *Hindenburg* coming in to land at Lakehurst, New Jersey, 1936. The airship's hangar and the Zeppelin-built airship USS *Los Angeles* can be seen in the background. A United States Coast Guard Douglas RD-4 is flying alongside the *Hindenburg*. The photograph was taken on 6 May, following the *Hindenburg*'s first Atlantic crossing from Friedrichshafen, Germany, to New York.
