Amy Post is best known as the first person to suggest to [Harriet Jacobs](https://www.worldhistory.org/Harriet_Jacobs/) that she write her autobiography, *Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl* (1861). Photographer unknown; image included in *Harriet Jacobs: A Life* (2004) by Jean Fagan Yellin.
