The [tomb](https://www.worldhistory.org/tomb/) of King [Aethelstan](https://www.worldhistory.org/Aethelstan/) (r. 924-939) in Malmesbury Abbey, Malmesbury, [England](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/england/). There is nothing in the tomb beneath the statue, the relics of the king having been lost in the [Dissolution of the Monasteries](https://www.worldhistory.org/Dissolution_of_the_Monasteries/) in 1539.
