## Image Caption

Wonnarua painting of Baiame, near Milbrodale (south of Singleton, New South Wales).

It shows an Aboriginal sacred site with a 50,000-year-old cave painting of Biamie, an Aboriginal [mythology](https://www.worldhistory.org/mythology/) Creator [God](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/). Biamie was a powerful male god, and several things in the picture emphasize this, for example, the white ochre circle around the figure's navel, the white armbands, and the outlines of tools generally associated with males, like the stone axe and the hunting boomerang. His large arms signify bringing together, like a hug, and the seven white lines under his armpits symbolize the seven nearby tribes.
