The Nazi medal which commemorated the [Beer Hall Putsch](https://www.worldhistory.org/Beer_Hall_Putsch/) of November 1923, a failed coup d'etat led by [Adolf Hitler](https://www.worldhistory.org/Adolf_Hitler/) (1889-1945). The medal, called the *Blutorden* or ‘Blood Order’, was awarded to those who had participated in the putsch. (German Federal Archives)
