## Image Caption

*The Miracles of St. Francis Xavier*, oil on canvas by Peter [Paul](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Paul/) Rubens, 1617/1618. In it, Francis Xavier preaches to the peoples of Asia and [Africa](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/africa/), with the destruction of an idol in the background. Several individuals are being brought back to life, such as the baby with water coming from its mouth, a reference to an event that happened in Goa when Xavier resurrected a drowned child. Notice also the man dressed in Korean garment, standing to the right of the individual in armour.
