## Image Caption

Fragmented mould-blown beaker with a [circus](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Circus/) scene and the inscription '*vade Pyramus*' (meaning 'go Pyramus!'), a renowned charioteer from [Pompeii](https://www.worldhistory.org/pompeii/). It also shows the *spina* (central barrier) of the [Circus Maximus](https://www.worldhistory.org/Circus_Maximus/) in the middle band. Below the *spina* are four *quadrigae*.
