## Image Caption

The Garden Triclinium in Wadi Farasa, a narrow gorge in Petra ([Jordan](https://www.worldhistory.org/Jordan/)) containing rock-cut monuments, including the Lion Fountain, the Garden Triclinium, the [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) Soldier [Tomb](https://www.worldhistory.org/tomb/), and the Renaissance Tomb. The original function of the Garden Triclinium is still not clear, but it may have been part of the [Nabataean](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kingdom_of_Nabatea/) water system and probably originated in connection with the Soldier Tomb complex. A big retaining [wall](https://www.worldhistory.org/wall/) that creates a huge natural water reservoir is located on the right of the Garden Triclinium.
