Pahuk (also known as Pahaku and Pahuk Hill) a site sacred to the [Pawnee](https://www.worldhistory.org/Pawnee/) in modern-day Nebraska. The site features prominently in the Pawnee tale *The [Boy Who Was Sacrificed](https://www.worldhistory.org/article/2419/the-boy-who-was-sacrificed/)* and in the story of Old-Lady-Grieves-the-Enemy who defended the site against a raiding party of Ponca and [Sioux](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sioux/) in the 19th century.
