Château de Beauregard, Celettes, Loir-et-Cher, France. Most of the château was built in the 16th century. It was famously used as a hunting lodge by Francis I of France (r. 1515-1547). Today, it houses the largest gallery of portraits in [Europe](https://www.worldhistory.org/europe/) (la Galerie des Illustres), 327 portraits of famous people who lived between 1328 and 1643, all in chronological order. In 1925, the château was bought by Mme de Gossellin, whose descendants still reside there.
