The Kindred Spirits [sculpture](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Sculpture/) in the town of Midleton, County Cork, [Ireland](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Ireland/). The sculpture was unveiled in June 2017 and celebrates the "kindred spirits" of the people of Ireland and the North American Native Choctaw Nation, who, in 1847, sent a large donation to Ireland to help during the Great Famine of 1845-1852, even though the Choctaw were suffering poverty and hardship themselves.
