Fetterman (l. c. 1833-1866), best known for the [Battle](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/battle/) of the Hundred-in-the-Hands/The Fetterman Massacre in which he and 80 soldiers under his command were killed by the [Sioux](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sioux/)-[Cheyenne](https://www.worldhistory.org/Cheyenne/)-[Arapaho](https://www.worldhistory.org/Arapaho/) alliance on 21 December 1866 during [Red Cloud's War](https://www.worldhistory.org/Red_Cloud's_War/).
