Dzalisa is an archaeological site in Georgia dating back to the ancient kingdom of [Iberia](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/iberia/). It is situated in the Mukhrani valley, some 20 kilometres (12.4 mi) northwest of Mtskheta, and features remnants of a fortified [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) and various structures. The site can be identified with the Zalissa mentioned by [Claudius Ptolemy](https://www.worldhistory.org/Claudius_Ptolemy/) (c. 100 to c. 170 CE) as one of the principal towns of Iberia. This archaeological settlement bears witness to the urban development of Iberia in the first centuries CE.
