Uplistsulis Eklesia (Prince's Church) is a three-nave basilica built in the 10th century CE near the top of the hill of Uplistsikhe Cave Town (Eastern Georgia) over what was probably the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/)'s most important pagan [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/).

Uplistsikhe is an ancient rock-hewn town in Georgia, featuring a complex of caves and tunnels carved into the rock. Dating back to the early [Iron Age](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Iron_Age/) (c. 1000 BCE), it served as a significant political, religious, and cultural centre. The site includes dwellings, a pagan temple, a Christian basilica, and a complex irrigation system, offering a fascinating glimpse into Georgia's rich history.
