Aureus of Brutus, thought to have been struck in the late summer or autumn of 42 BCE at a military mint travelling with [Marcus Junius Brutus](https://www.worldhistory.org/Marcus_Junius_Brutus/) and Cassius in western [Asia Minor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Asia_Minor/) or northern [Greece](https://www.worldhistory.org/greece/).

Reverse: trophy combining elements of land and sea victories and thought to celebrate the military victories of Brutus in [Lycia](https://www.worldhistory.org/lycia/) and Thrace, along with the heroic naval feats of Cassius in resistance to the Rhodians.
