Sobraon was the last of four major victories for the British [East India Company](https://www.worldhistory.org/East_India_Company/) (EIC) against the Sikh [empire](https://www.worldhistory.org/empire/) and so the company won the [war](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/War/).
