## Image Caption

A building inscription from Milecastle 38 which gives evidence for the building of [Hadrian's Wall](https://www.worldhistory.org/Hadrians_Wall/) in [Britain](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Britain/) that bears his name. The text also mentions Aulus Platorius Nepos, who arrived with the emperor in the province of [Britannia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Britain/) in 122 CE. Now on display at the Great North Museum: Hancock in Newcastle.

This is RIB 1638, which reads:
