## Image Caption

The external baths at Chesters [Roman Fort](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Fort/) are one of [Britain](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Britain/)'s best-preserved [Roman military](https://www.worldhistory.org/Roman_Army/) buildings. They are located outside the fort close to the River Tyne and are of Hadrianic date (117-138 CE) with many later additions and alterations.
