A 1785 oil-on-panel portrait by Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun of French nobelwoman Baronne de Crussol Florensac. The striking red dress and hat are rendered using [cochineal](https://www.worldhistory.org/Cochineal/) pigment which would have made them very expensive indeed.
