The effigy of Isabella of Angoulême (c. 1186-1246) at Fontevraud Abbey, France. Isabella was the Queen of [England](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/england/) as the second wife of [King John of England](https://www.worldhistory.org/King_John_of_England/) (r. 1199-1216) who she married in August 1200.
