## Image Caption

The cover bears a relief representation of [Dionysos](https://www.worldhistory.org/Dionysos/) flanked by two Maenads or [Adonis](https://www.worldhistory.org/Adonis/) flanked by [Aphrodite](https://www.worldhistory.org/Aphrodite/) and [Persephone](https://www.worldhistory.org/persephone/). The female figures wear [silver](https://www.worldhistory.org/Silver/) jewellery.

Folding mirrors consist of two two [bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/) discs connected by a hinge. Their decoration refers to the woman's world, Aphrodite and [Eros](https://www.worldhistory.org/Eros/), as well as the Dionysiac repertoire.
