## Image Caption

A 1902 oil on canvas, *Old Winegrower in Moret*, by [Camille Pissarro](https://www.worldhistory.org/Camille_Pissarro/) (1830-1903), the Danish-French impressionist painter. Moret-sur-Loing was a small village on the edge of the Fontainebleau forest. One is tempted to see an autobiographical note in this painting and the aged worker taking his rest as the artist himself reached the end of his long career. (Private Collection)
