From the inner part of the [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of Beit el-Wali, a rock-cut temple in Nubia built by [Pharaoh](https://www.worldhistory.org/pharaoh/) [Ramesses](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/ramesses/) II and dedicated to the deities of [Amun](https://www.worldhistory.org/amun/)-Re, Re-Horakhti, Khnum and Anuket. The temple was originally located 50 kilometres south of Aswan in southern [Egypt](https://www.worldhistory.org/egypt/) (Lower Nubia) but was relocated during the 1960s as a result of the Aswan High Dam project and moved to higher ground at the site of New Kalabsha near Aswan.
