The closed view of the [Ghent Altarpiece](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ghent_Altarpiece/), aka The Adoration of the Mystic Lamb. Credited to the Renaissance artist [Jan van Eyck](https://www.worldhistory.org/Jan_van_Eyck/) (c. 1390-1441 CE) and made in 1432. An inscription on the reverse also credits Hubert van Eyck. The two lower central panels show the two Saint Johns and they are painted to appear like sculptures. (Saint Bavo Cathedral, Ghent, Belgium)
