According to [Bible](https://www.worldhistory.org/bible/), Abel was murdered by his own brother Cain who was jealous of Abel being favoured by [God](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/). The crime resulted in Cain being sent to exile. Despite being expelled from his parents, he nonetheless became a father of humankind. He built a [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) and fathered the line of descendants beginning with [Enoch](https://www.worldhistory.org/Enoch/).
