Baldr was a beloved son of [Odin](https://www.worldhistory.org/odin/) and [Frigg](https://www.worldhistory.org/Frigg/). Despite being universally loved he was deceitfully killed as a result of an intrigue plotted by the trickster [Loki](https://www.worldhistory.org/Loki/).
