They were said to ride horses from *Asgard* that was a sky location of gods down to the battlefield. Valkyries were also known for assisting the souls of fallen warriors to enter an afterlife land called *[Valhalla](https://www.worldhistory.org/Valhalla/)*.

The image focuses more on the role of the Valkyrie as a participant in a battle rather than her role as a servant of the souls of the warriors.
